Lots of food and party games and a visit from Father Christmas!

12 midday - Party at Shaftesbury School. KCA staff will provide transport from Kids Can Achieve to Shaftesbury School
3pm - Parents collect from Shaftesbury School, Harrow Weald HA3 6LE

Cost £20 day rate + £3 (cost towards food and Santa)

NB Food will be provided at the party, so your child does not need to bring lunch unless they require a specialist diet.

If your child would only like to attend the party, you will need to provide transport and stay with your child throughout the party - we will only have enough staff for children who are booked onto the playscheme. Admission to just the party will be £3. Please call the KCA office to let us know if your child would like to come or complete the booking form opposite.

Playscheme is your child’s holiday and we want them to have fun. We arrange sessions around constructive play, arts and crafts and use of the sensory room.

Click here to print out a booking form for the playscheme. Book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

We look forward to welcoming your child here.

Lunch
Please provide a packed lunch (including a drink) for each session except the Christmas party. (Because of nut allergies, please do not include peanut butter etc).

Please complete the booking form and return to the centre with full payment in order to secure your place. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Cheques should be made payable to Kids Can Achieve and must be sent in with the completed booking form. We will only contact you if we are unable to offer you the places you have requested.

A few handy points:

What your child should bring

More about food

Kids Can Achieve would like to encourage all kids attending the centre to learn healthy eating habits. Please assist us where possible by limiting the amounts of biscuits, crisps and squashes in their lunch boxes. Do not send your child in with sweets. We provide some biscuits and “treats”. Let us know on the booking form of any allergies/intolerances.

Drop off and pick up
Play Scheme does not start until 10am and ends at 3pm. There will not be staff available to look after your children before 10am, this is their preparation time. There is a late pick up fee of £5 per 15 minutes for children not collected by 3pm.

Absence
Please give us at least 24 hours notice of absence, where possible - it helps us to arrange staffing for that day and to offer another child that place.
There will be no refunds or days in lieu for days missed if we haven’t had at least 24 hours notice.
If your child does not attend play scheme and we haven’t heard from you they will go the bottom of the waiting list for the next scheme.
If your child’s place is being funded by the ADHD Support Group and they are absent without prior notice you will be asked to re-imburse the ADHD Support Group.

Easter Playscheme report

Easter was complicated this year with days off all over the place so playscheme was two days longer than usual!! We managed two trips out this year. First we went on our annual excursion to Willows Farm which has been revamped and now has a fantastic indoor soft play area with some wicked slides. Along with seeing all the new baby animals and panning for gold we managed to completely wear out all the children.

During the second week of the holiday we (the staff) got the swimming gear dusted off and ready for action and headed off the Aquasplash in Hemel Hempstead. Once there our real water babies braved rapids and slides while those less confident got used to getting wet in the splash pool (although none of them had any problem with ducking the staff who all came back sporting 'the Scarecrow' hair do). All in all Easter was fast, furious and fun filled and a good taster for how the summer will be.

May Playscheme report

It may have only been for four days but boy were we run off our feet. By the end of the week I had decided that the children were running on rocket fuel. In just those few short days we manged the park, the lido, Halfords (one child's favourite shop), painting, sand and water play, the ball pond, yoga, etc, etc, etc. In fact so many things I can't remember them all. Luckily we have 8 weeks to prepare for the summer hols!
